Dan Vander "Dan The Man" Molen

Dan "Dan the Man" Vander Molen passed away December 24th, 2024 in Mesa, AZ. He was born January 4th, 1950 in Phoenix Arizona, where his beloved parents, Calvin Vander Molen and Anagene Schutter Vander Molen, raised him and his brother Dale. Dan graduated from Phoenix Christian High School in 1968. He went back to college late in life, obtaining both his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology by his 60th birthday! Dan was a true jack of all trades, with an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to successfully run a variety of businesses over the years. From general contracting to tractor operation, corporate janitorial services to managing an insurance agency, Dan's versatility and determination were evident in everything he did. He approached each venture with a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to providing for his family. While some endeavors were met with more success than others, Dan's resilience and ability to adapt to any challenge were defining traits throughout his life. He will be remembered not only for his business 'smarts' but also for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Dan made up for the fact that he couldn't walk fast, by always driving fast. If that was his car, his boat or motorcycle, the faster the better! He also found joy in singing and in writing, and he spent many years doing both in worship of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dan was a member of Palmcroft Baptist Church for many years, and sang in their choir for a time before moving to Sun City later in life. Dan is survived by his wife Margaret Ann, of 14 years; his 3 children; daughter Mindy Brocker (husband Adam), grandchildren Andrew, Daniel and Ash; Daughter Kimberly Vander Molen, grandchildren Phoenix and Kylee; and son Adam Vander Molen (wife Delia), grandchildren Madilyn, Jaelyn, Dani.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Thursday, January 30th, 2025 at Palmcroft Church; 15825 N. 35th Avenue; Phoenix, AZ 85053.
