Dan Seegmiller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olpin Family Mortuary on Aug. 19, 2024.
Daniel Mark Seegmiller, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, after fighting a valiant battle with Mesothelioma. He was born on July 25th, 1949, in Provo, UT, to Shirley Maude Berkhimer and Woodrow Adams Seegmiller.
Dan was the 3rd of 4 children. He grew up in Orem, UT and graduated from Orem High School. He met his sweetheart Danielle Lloyd on the night of Graduation. He joined the Navy in 1967 right after graduating, and served on the USS Constellation for 3 years, all while dating Danielle long-distance. Dan and Danielle were married in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on May 14th, 1970, and they moved to Bremerton, WA where he finished his military service. Together, Dan and Danielle had 5 Children, 18 grandchildren and 7.5 great grandchildren.
After serving in the Navy, he became a plumber and had his own business for a short time. He then hired on at Geneva Steel in 1977, and was promoted to management in 1979, working there for more than 40 years (including the demolition).
Some of Dan's favorite things were camping and 4-wheeling with his family, cutting and gathering firewood (including the infamous Dan Seegmiller Logs), driving his tractor on the farm, operating heavy equipment, serving two missions at Bluff Fort, and serving and helping others in every capacity possible.
After Danielle passed away in 2016, Dad retired shortly thereafter and served two service Missions at Bluff Fort, UT. It was on his 2nd mission that he met Ann McEuen, who was also serving a mission at Bluff Fort. While serving at the Fort, he not only became engaged to Ann, but married her there on October 21st, 2021, as they were both finishing up the last few months of their missions. Combined, they have 10 children, 33 grandchildren and 7.5 great grandchildren. Dan and Ann lived in Heber City, UT, where they cared for the farm, and Dad shot marmots out of a bedroom window.
Dan is survived by his wife Ann McEuen, his brother Scott (Jeannine) Seegmiller, his children, Tracy Seegmiller, Kristi (James) Beckett, Jamie (Justin) Gould, Mark (Rachel) Seegmiller and Jodi (Jason) Williams, Jason (Heidi) McEuen, Marci (Morgan) Johnson, Emily (Greg) Winslow, Beth (John) Emmett, Kurt (Jordan) McEuen, 33 grandchildren, 7.5 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Maude Berkhimer and Woodrow Adams Seegmiller, wife, Danielle Lloyd, sister, Sheri Paisley, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Kresser.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. David Griffin and his wonderful team for the incredible service rendered on Dan's behalf, as well as all of his caretakers and nurses in the ICU at IMC Murray, and the nursing staff at the Utah Valley Specialty Hospital.
Dan graduated with honors. We all love him, and will miss him dearly. "Until the next ride "

I remember helping him with his son Mark, a close friend of mine, in his field. We were loading bales of hay from the field into the barn. I will never forget the hard worker and great smile he always seemed to have.
