Obituary of Dan Toepp
Daniel "Dan" E. Toepp, age 61, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Dan was born in Rome on September 20, 1963 to the late William and Beverly Trembeth Toepp, and graduated from RFA in 1981. He worked in the meat departments at Chicago Market, Lombino's, and Price Chopper where he became a butcher and eventually department manager.
Dan was a huge fan of the NY Giants and the Mets. He could make you smile just by listening to him, and he always had a smile on his face and nice things to say. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Dan is survived by his sister, Karen (Janet) Toepp of Utica; brothers, Joseph Toepp of Virginia, James (Marlene) Toepp of Camden, and Stephen (Lauri) Toepp of Utica; nieces, Bethany (James) Abbott of Boonville, and Mari-Ellen (Nick) Guglielmo of Lee Center; nephews, Shaun Toepp of Rome, Richard (Sarah) Abbott of Lee Center, and Christopher (Julianne) Toepp of Virginia; a great niece, Olivia; great nephews, Dante, James III, Lenny, Ryder, Nolan, and Christopher; and many cousins and friends including his special friends, Danielle and Val, and all those at the Ale House. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Abbott; and brother, William "Bill" Toepp.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12 to 2 PM prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rome Rescue Mission, 413 E. Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440.
