Dana Jeanne Burgess passed away on August 27, 2025, in Bentonville, Arkansas, after battling a long illness. Dana was born Dana Jeanne Sutton on October 15th, 1959, in Sedan, Kansas. Dana was preceded in death, by her father, Jospeh A. Sutton, and mother, Deloris J. Gilliam, and great nephew Zane Reese. She is survived by her son Corbin Hulsizer, husband, Stephen Burgess, three brothers, Jody Sutton and wife Patty, John Sutton and wife Jackie, Jeff Sutton and wife Erin, and two sisters Dorothy Reese and husband Don, and Jenny Shilts.
Dana was a kind warmhearted soul who often went out of her way to make her family and friends feel special. She worked at Wal-Mart for 33 & a half years and was still employed at the time of her death. It was not uncommon for her to bake a big tray of cookies or other sweet treats to take to work and share with her co-workers. She especially loved art and was an annual member at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which was one of her favorite places. She was very crafty herself, often making decorations for friends, get togethers, or special events. She loved her 17-year-old Kitty Cat, and two 5-year-old dogs, and spoiled them, like she did her friends and family. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.
Her ashes will be buried September 21st in Grenola, Kansas and a remembrance of her life will be held on October 18th, this year location still to be determined.
