Having witness many young artists competition winners perform in my orchestra, Dana was surely one of the most gifted! Her performance of the Wieniawski was one of a kind. I am truly sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences.

I did not know Dana personally, but my daughter went to Belmont Day and goes to NEC Prep. It is so easy for me to imagine the joy that Dana gifted to others through her music, kindness and peaceful spirit. My heart goes out to Dana´s family and friends. And thank you Dana for the music you made, the people you inspired and the love you gave.

I will always remember Dana. We began our musical journey together when she was eight or nine! I loved working with her and seeing her grow as a musician and as a young woman. She had a sweet and gentle spirit!!! There are simply no words to express my feelings of loss for myself but mostly for her family. Thinking of you all at this most difficult time with love.

Can´t say I ever really knew Dana, I´ve only just found out about her from Google search suggestions, but from reading what others have said, she sounds like she was an amazing person, and nobody should have to die that young. May she rest in peace.

As many great friendships do, my friendship with Dana started completely by accident.
I was introduced online to her through a mutual friend, Bonnie. Even though we barely had any connections (at least, that I knew of at the time), we immediately hit it off and talked frequently. She had such a kind heart and vibrant personality, after all, that it would be hard for anyone who met her not to do the same.
A few weeks later, I was on a call with Dana and had shared my screen for reasons long lost to time. Dana, ever the sharp and eagle-eyed woman, noticed that I had a bookmark on my search browser linked to a webpage of the New England Conservatory, and inquired as to why it was there. We soon realized we were both in the same orchestra, Youth Symphony, and began to spot each other first in the COVID-regualted zoom meetings but soon in real life as well. Our friendship only grew after that, and Dana became one of my best and most dear friends.
Throughout the three and a half years I have known her, I kept a strong online correspondence with Dana. Regrettably, I had only met up with her in real life outside of NEC several times, but I can say with the utmost confidence that those times were some of the best of my entire life. The memories I have made with her will stick with me for the rest of my years.
Dana was one of the happiest and kindest people I ever knew. You could feel the care and empathy she exuded on a day-to-day basis, and even her "hello"s to me in the NEC hallways were just full of indescribable radiance and light. She was so, so talented, both on the violin and in other aspects of her life as well. She was just about the coolest and smartest person I knew.
I could say so, so many more things about what an amazing person Dana was, but words cannot do her amazing life justice. She had accomplished more in the few short years I knew her than many others do in their entire time on Earth.
My condolences go out to Mr. Chang, Mrs. Song, and all of Dana´s friends and family. I hope you find peace in her memory and in her talent and character. May God bless all of you and guide you through these difficult times.
And Dana, thank you for everything. You deserved the universe, and so much more. I can say with certainty you are in a better place now. May you rest in peace.

I moved from Shanghai, China to Boston in August 2019. I met Dana in September of that year at Belmont Day School, when we were only 12. She was my first friend in this country. Little did I know she would become my best friend for the years ahead.
We shared so many memories. We went to cross-country meets, attended Model United Nations conferences, helped each other practice our 8th-grade Capstone presentations, and so much more...she was the only person I really kept in touch with, even after we'd gone to high school.
She was the most hardworking person I have known. She was dedicated to all the things she loved. She brought joy to all of those around her, and I was strongly impacted by her presence. It was an honor to have someone this amazing in my life. She made who I am today.
The last time I hung out with her was in January, when she visited after I had moved homes. We were just planning to hang out again last week...
I wish one day to hear her beautifully playing the violin again, and run side by side with her. I know she is in a much better place now.

I first met Dana when she was in the 8th grade and applying to Walnut Hill School for the Arts. I was her admission counselor and I had the pleasure of conducting her admission interview. Dana was funny, sweet, intelligent, humble, engaging and simply beautiful inside and out.
My heart aches for the Chang/Song family. Dana will leave a lasting mark on all of us. Rest in peace Dana. You will be missed

I first met Dana at the Walnut Hill School Welcome orientation. Among the crowd, it was the sound of her mom and her speaking Korean that caught my attention. As I approached and met Dana, her charm and intelligence were immediately apparent.
Dana, from what I could glean, was very reserved, but she excelled in everything she undertook with a determination that was truly admirable. She carried herself with quiet grace-always polite, kind, and genuinely happy.
Dana's death was extremely shocking to me. It´s difficult to comprehend why someone so gifted and compassionate is taken from us. And as much as this means, Mr. Chang, Mr. Song, and all of Dana´s family and friends, I hope you find comfort in knowing that she was admired by all around her. I hope you find solace in her legacy through the memories we shared with her and her importance in our stories.

I had the privilege of playing Wieniawski´s violin concerto with Dana when I was playing in the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra. Dana was always practicing the difficult passages whenever I saw her. Our orchestra had a great time playing with her and her performance was fabulous! She was a super star and will always be in our hearts!
