Dana Ray McGee passed away at home on January 15th 2026. He was 65 years of age. He was born August 9th, 1960.
He was born in Iowa City at the University of Iowa Hospital. His parent are Francis Glenn McGee and Joanne Marvel (Powers) McGee, Both preceded in death.
He attended Adel elementary and Adel Junior High School.
Dana was never married and lived with his parents until their deaths. His interests were having cameras and taking pictures and playing his x box with his favorite game of Minecraft in which he liked to design buildings and was very good at it.
He is survived by a sister- Glenice (McGee) Purscell. With husband Lenard. He has 2 nieces, Heather (Purscell) Weicht, Cheri (Purscell) Rice with husband Andrew, Nephew Travis Purscell with wife DeAngela. Several great nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
His services will be held at the Caldwell Funeral home in Adel, IA on February 7th 2026 at 1130 am. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. With interment at the Fairview Cemetery south of DeSoto Iowa, next to his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to his family for future designations.
Special thanks to the home health company PACE for their diligence and caring for Dana while he lived in Carlisle. I could not have given Dana the independence he had without them.
