Dana Kimball Soechting, 69, of Kingston, NY, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, May 17, 2024. He was born in Kingston on October 31, 1954 to Jesse James and Winifred Kimball Soechting.
Dana started out working for Bekins Van Lines, spending most of his life employed as a truck driver. When he wasn’t tearing down the highways, Dana found solace in the simple pleasures of life, relishing a cold brew with friends and embracing the rustic charms of the countryside. His heart belonged to the wild, where he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his buddies at the camp on Mink Hollow. Back home, he enjoyed Westerns, and Jeremiah Johnson was one of his favorites.
Dana is survived by his son, Dana (Alexandra Brown), his daughters Tracy (Philip) Auchmoody and Andrea (Jonathan Leder) Soechting, his sister Cynthia (Tim) Johnson, his brothers Stephen (Raymond) and Jay (Jacqueline), many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his dear friend, “Blu” Hollock. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erica.
A celebration of life will be organized by the family for this coming summer.
