Dane Krull

Dane Christian Krull passed away February 26, 2025 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dane was born October 31, 1989, in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard and Stephanie (Deardorf) Krull. Growing up, his family called several places home, moving to follow his father's military career. Dane thrived during their stays in Hawaii and Florida, as his warm, outgoing personality drew people to him and made for fast friendships. Eventually the family moved to Indiana, and he graduated from Garrett High School, where he excelled academically and athletically (football and soccer).
Dane attended Indiana State University, where he earned a degree in Exercise Physiology and completed 1.5 years of graduate work in nutritional supplementation. Dane's strong intellectual curiosity led to a lifetime love of learning. In addition to his studies, he was skilled with computers, handy with tools, and had a gift for team building and leadership. Despite all these talents, Dane's greatest gifts were his winning smile and easy charm that opened doors and hearts for him everywhere he went.
Dane and his brother Lars were close from birth (2 years apart) and stayed close throughout their adult lives. They shared a room while the family hosted exchange students for nine years from 14 countries. So he actually had 'brothers and sisters all over the world.
During his years at St. Paul Lutheran School, Dane made many friends that he remained in contact with throughout his life, Mark, Eric, Rob, Evan and Jason. He also treasured his friends from ISU, Jason, Rob and Seth, always making it a priority to connect and stay in touch.
During college, Dane met Rachel Loebker, and in 2017, they were united in marriage. The couple settled in the Indianapolis area and were blessed with two beautiful children: a son Vincent and a daughter Lucy. Professionally, Dane began his working life in Sports Science but quickly gravitated to a career in Logistics and Operations, where he worked for several large corporations. He always focused on improving conditions for his teammates and enforcing safety at work.
In his time away from work, Dane enjoyed music, sports, performance-training, and dabbling in electronics and gadgetry. He loved spending time with his children. His playful disposition made him a natural partner in adventure. We mourn the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend but find comfort knowing peace will come in the arms of the Lord.
Dane is survived by his wife Rachel and their children Vincent and Lucy. His memory is also cherished by his grandmother, Barb Deardorf, his parents Richard and Stephanie Krull, and his brother Lars Krull.
In lieu of a memorial, a GoFundMe page has been established to honor Dane's memory and provide immediate and ongoing support for his children Vincent and Lucy.
