Dane Andre Moore, 56, of Drexel, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1969, and raised in Drexel by his mother, Melanie Moore. He was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and shared his faith with all who knew him. He was a family man and enjoyed performing community service. Dane graduated from Tabernacle School, where he played basketball and soccer. He went on to Catawba Valley Community College and obtained his Paramedics degree. Dane has been an Instructor at CVCC, Western Piedmont Community College, and McDowell Technical Community College. After retirement, Dane continued to work as a paramedic with UNC Blue Ridge at Valdese Family Medical Practice. He became a firefighter at age 16 and was part of the Triple Community and Drexel Fire Departments. While training many fellow firemen in the greater community, he also taught CPR and First Aid through Child Care Connections in Burke County for thirty years.

Dane is survived by his wife, Sharon Rushing Moore; children, Delanie Moore, who has his determination and attention to detail, Thomas Moore, who shares his sense of adventure and love of community, and Jocelyn Moore, who has his sense of humor and his smile that lights up a room; a number of extended family members including his nephews and nieces who he though the world of.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas D. Moore and Beulah B. Moore.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Mt. Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. Ethan Cromer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
