Dani Michelle Stewart, 59, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026. Dani was born David Michael Stewart on January 4, 1967, in Alameda, CA, to David and Dora Stewart.

Dani grew up between California and Missouri, carrying pieces of both places with her throughout her life. She proudly served in the United States Navy before going on to build a long and meaningful career in music, radio, and journalism. Music was Dani's gift. She had a rare talent, the ability to pick up nearly any instrument and play it by ear, having never touched it before. Dani loved to sing. Her creativity, passion, and spirit touched many lives. She will be deeply missed.

Dani was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dora Stewart. She is survived by her father, David Stewart; her sister, MaTonya Parish; her four sons, Benjamin Mountcastle, Tyler Stewart, Michael Stewart, and Joseph Stewart, who she always said were her proudest accomplishments, along with five beautiful grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial service. To honor Dani's lifelong love of music, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eldon School District Bands, (573) 392-8000. https://www.facebook.com/share/1HZ4sAVXpP/
