Danial Abram Keeble
March 31, 1995 – October 4, 2025
Danial Abram Keeble was born on March 31, 1995, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Everett Gideon Keeble and Anna Marie Hawkins. He lived a short but full 30 years, as the sun set on his earthly days on the morning of October 4, 2025. Though his final breath was taken at home in Hinton, Iowa, he was pronounced at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. Danial was baptized Catholic and carried his faith close to his heart. He worked hard to live right by God and to follow the path he believed was meant for him. He was especially proud to have been nearly three years sober-a milestone that reflected his strength, determination, and deep faith. Because of ongoing medical conditions, Danial was unable to work outside the home. Instead, he found great purpose as a caretaker and homemaker. He cherished every moment spent with his children and poured his love into being their father. Danial had a love for all things spooky and never missed a chance to give his kids a playful scare. He enjoyed playing catch, sledding, going on bike rides, and simply spending time outdoors with his family. A die-hard Raiders fan, Danial also had a creative side-he was patient, talented, and meticulous with his beadwork and sewing, always stepping in when something needed mending. He was an avid gamer, often cheered on by his son, who loved to shout, "Daddy, shoot!" during their gaming sessions. He also loved reading, especially the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Twilight series-he had just begun reading the newest addition, Midnight Sun. Danial found joy in quiet moments too, spending time coloring, drawing, and working on word searches. His favorite animals were owls and bears, symbols of wisdom and strength that reflected his spirit. Danial loved to travel and was proud to have explored places from New York to Arizona. Arizona had captured his heart, and he dreamed of making it his home once things were settled in Iowa. He hoped to one day ride the Amtrak to Oregon and Washington and even fly for the first time. He attended Central High School in Rapid City, later earning his GED. He often spoke about his wish to have focused more in school and to have continued playing his favorite sport-football. His dream career was to become a wildlife biologist, inspired by his love of nature and animals.
Danial is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Cheyenne, and his children: daughters Jayah (10), Zanaiya (7), Zalinah (2), and his only son, Ezekial (3). He is also survived by his parents, Anna Hawkins and Everett Keeble (Danae Keeble); grandparents Laurie Hawkins and Claudette Cloud-Anderson; brothers Jonathan, Anthony (Sequoya Keeble), Ian, Ralph Andreas, Paxstan, and Matt Cooke (Katie Cooke); and sisters Deja, Breanna, Nevaeha, and Naomi. He also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews-including Lyric, Miracle, and many others-as well as his beloved dog Shunka and cat MoonPie.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Abram (whom he got his middle name from) and Catherine Ovitt, grandfathers Stanley Rivas Goodshield Hawkins and Ralph Keeble, stepmother Stephanie Keeble, uncle Brad Cloud, aunt Alpha, cousin Morley, niece Frayah, and brother Charles White Eagle.
Danial lived in many places throughout his life, including multiple cities across South Dakota, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, before settling in Iowa, where his journey came to a peaceful close.
