Daniel L. Abt, 42, of Clay, passed away July 30, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born in Syracuse, New York on May 23, 1983 to Andrew and JoAnne Abt.
Daniel was employed by H S M Packaging, Liverpool ,NY, where he was a Warehouse and Logistic Manager. In his free time, he enjoyed snowmobiling, auto racing, was an avid NY Yankees fan and assisted with coaching for his son's hockey and baseball team. He loved to tinker with cars and Chevy trucks, liked to repair and fix things and would help anybody. He was always there if you needed help.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his spouse of 22 years, Michele Pokrentowski, son, Daniel Abt Jr.; daughter, Josephine Abt; three brothers, Steve (Diane) Abt of Phoenix; Mike (Casey) Abt of Cicero; Jeffrey (Angela) Abt of Liverpool; two sisters, Andrea (Mark) Hensberry of Liverpool, Kimberly (Chris) Blomgren of Florida; mother and father in law, Tina and Richard Jones of N. Syracuse; father and mother in law, Ron and Tammy Pokrentowski of Liverpool; sister in law Denise Fulton of Syracuse; brother in law Joe Pokrentowski of Rexford, NY; brother in law Anthony Pokrentowski of Clay and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, N.Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY in lieu of flowers
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses, doctor and chaplain for all their care and support.
