ALBERTSON, DANIEL THOMAS passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025. He was very happy and proud to be 80 years old!

Dan is survived by his devoted "bride" Kerry and two children, Todd (Lisa) and Jody (Morris) Simms, along with four grandchildren; Tyler, Brooke, Collin and Delaney. They were all dearly loved by their Grandpa A / Papa. Daniel loved being a father and grandfather. His children meant so much to him and they loved and adored him as well. Todd and Jody had the best Dad ever! So many memories are stored in their hearts. They would visit him and facetime him all the time. With Dan, spending time with his family was something he looked forward to on weekends, at lunch, on every special occasion and more. Family and faith were his treasures.

Dan was born on April 23, 1945, at Saint Francis Hospital in Hamtramck, Michigan, to Conrad and Hattie Albertson. He was one of five children including brothers, the late Bob, Bill, the late Don, and sister Margaret.

Dan graduated from Denby high school in 1963 and received an Engineering Degree soon after. He was recognized with a Design Engineering Achievement Award at age 21.

Dan met Kerry, his wife, in high school. They married on April 1, 1967. He said from the first time he saw her, "he was going to marry that girl". Dan and Kerry served together in the church for many years. They were youth group leaders, attended seminars, were active in the Gospel Presenter and Marriage Encounter programs and sang in 2 concerts, loving every minute. He carried a deep faith in Jesus Christ throughout his lifetime.

Dan had many hobbies. He bought, repaired and sold cars, rebuilt engines, owned and raced motorcycles, both on the track and in the woods, with his son Todd and members from "Team Edna". After multiple sclerosis (MS) struck, he did not stop there. He transitioned from 2 wheels to a 4-wheel Honda Pilot ….. He always moved forward and never complained. Dan also loved running, fishing, camping, mountain biking and was very proficient on the computer.

Dan showed courage, strength and valor, earning him the title of "WARRIOR" with all who knew him, especially his family. He lived with MS for 39 years, with a prognosis of 10 years in 1986. Dan never complained. He always found a warm smile for anyone present and was never hesitant to share the Good News and love of Jesus Christ. He was strong in his faith, even dealing with difficult health issues. He was grateful and treated every day as a gift from God.

Dan was a great man, friend, father and husband. He will be forever in our hearts. We are all blessed to have had him as part of our lives.
