Daniel Lee Amspaugh 72, of Lakeview, passed away on Wednesday March 15, 2023 peacefully in Lima, Ohio. He was born December 2, 1950 in Bellefontaine to Raymond C. and Ethel (Shonkwiler) Amspaugh.
Dan worked at Carter Steel as a welder for over 30 years, he later became an over the road Truck Driver and finished his working career with Acrux Security. Dan was an avid outdoorsman, he loved Fishing and working on cars and motorcycles.
Dan married Mary Ann Rode on December 23, 1995 and she survives; he is also survived by his daughters Amy Amspaugh, Rose Reimer, and Karen Bishop; sons Daniel C. Amspaugh, David Amspaugh, Josh Amspaugh, Dirk (Elysse) Amspaugh and Austin (Liz) Reimer; grandchildren Denver Bishop, Cheyanne (Tyler)Bishop, Autumn Miller, Blair Amspaugh and Benjamin Amspaugh; great grandson Westen Bishop; brother Raymond Amspaugh; sisters Donna Moon and Irene Penwell, sister in law Karen (Jeff) Vogel; several nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie, Sandy, Betty and Angela; sons William and Robert; son in law Wesley, brother in laws Ronald and Butch; and his former wife Carol Amspaugh.
Pastor Ron Irick will officiate a funeral service 6:00 PM Friday March 24, 2023 at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory 5591 US Highway 68 S. West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of service. In Lieu of flowers contributions for funeral expenses may be directed to the funeral home.
