Daniel Bailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home - Nekoosa on Jan. 22, 2026.
Daniel D. Bailey, age 77, of Nekoosa, Wis. passed away on January 20, 2026, in Marshfield, Wis. at the House of the Dove.
A memorial service and Lodge of Sorrow will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards, Wis. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30am until the time of service.
Daniel was born on June 24, 1948, in Belvidere, IL to the late Dean and Jean (Warner) Bailey. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Ruth Keehn on September 10, 1988, at Bethany Lutheran Church in the Township of Sigel. Together they built a life rooted in family, community, and shared memories.
Daniel spent nearly 40 years working in the automotive industry as a factory worker for Freudenberg NOK in Necedah, Wis., retiring in 2015. He took pride in his strong work ethic and dedication throughout his career.
A proud lifetime member of the Elks, Daniel served as a Past Exalted Ruler, a role that reflected his leadership and commitment to fellowship. He loved fishing, followed UWSP hockey, and was known for enjoying good conversation-especially during his regular coffee clutch, where he could talk with anyone and everyone.
Daniel's true passion was baseball, particularly the Chicago Cubs. He was a self-proclaimed baseball historian, amassed an extensive baseball card collection, and found great joy in sharing his knowledge of the game. He also enjoyed cheering on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and was a member of the Paper Cities Baseball Association.
Above all else, Daniel's greatest joy in life was his family. Everything he did was grounded in his love for them, and they were always his top priority.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bailey; daughter, Melissa Bailey; sisters, Nancy (Rodney) Hoppe, Sharon Bailey, Janet Bailey and many extended family and friends.
The family of Daniel would like to say a special thank you to the staff at The House of the Dove and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Daniel.
