Daniel P. Bauer “Dan”, a resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 68. He was born on July 4, 1956, in Millington, Tennessee, to William and Eva Lou (Morris) Bauer. On May 28, 1977, Dan married Regina “Gina” LeRay in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Dan graduated from McNeese University in Lake Charles, LA in 1978 with a degree in Horticulture. Earlier in his career he was a golf course superintendent at Merrill Hills Country Club. Dan then graduated in 1991 from Cardinal Stritch University with a master's degree in religious studies. He devoted the later part of his career to serving as a youth minister and pastoral counselor at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Brookfield. A deeply spiritual individual, he was also a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

From a young age, Dan had a passion for golf, starting at just eight years old, and maintained this love for golf throughout his life. Additionally, Dan developed a love for table tennis. He not only played competitively for many years but also served as a table tennis coach to his friends and daughters. His love for music was evident, as he appreciated various genres and played both the coronet and flugelhorn. Dan was blessed with many friends throughout his life, and he will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Gina; their daughters, Nicole “Nicki” (Heather) Powell of Milwaukee and Jacqueline “Jackie” Bauer of Brookfield; and his granddaughter, Emily (Conor) Parker. He is also survived by his siblings: Laura (the late William) Kelly of Florida, Craig (the late Dori) Bauer of Florida, Michael (Kathy) Bauer of Florida, Charles (Donna) Bauer of Connecticut, Judith (Jeff) Floit of Ohio, Jane (John) Vogl of Minnesota, and Jenny (Bradley) Clinard of Missouri. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, located at 2400 WI-59, Waukesha, WI 53189. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon. A private burial will take place on Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dan’s name may be directed to the Center for Neurological Disorders, S.C. (Ascension - St. Francis Hospital), located at 3237 S. 16th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53215.

Dan will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his loving spirit, devotion to family, and dedication to his faith and community.
