It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Joseph Tyczkowski, who left us on Sunday, March 1, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1960, to the late Anton and Theresa (Smurawa) Tyczkowski. Dan graduated from Pulaski High School and later obtained his bachelor’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University. He met the love of his life, Brenda Tegen, in driver’s ed class in high school. Daniel and Brenda got married at St. Edward and Isadore Parish on January 5, 1979.
Dan was a quiet and stoic man. His happy place was at the family farm, where he enjoyed repairing cars, trucks, and tractors. He also loved tracking the weather; he could tell you what the weather would be like in the coming days with great accuracy. Dan was an “avid indoors-man” who enjoyed his recliner. Dan will be greatly missed by many.
Dan is survived by his wife, Brenda (Tegen) Tyczkowski; his brothers, Tom (Judy) Tyczkowski, Joe (Melissa) Tyczkowski, and his sister, Patricia Monday. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews and their children: Nicholas and Jenny Tyczkowski (Jordynn, James, Tilly, and Ryker); David and Kristin Tyczkowski (Chase and Kacie); Jason and Jamie (Tyczkowski) Specht (Mitchell and Mackenzie); Kyle and Kristal (Tyczkowski) Dryer (Madysen, Carl, and Aaron); Matthew and Shannon Tyczkowski (Hannah); Reece, Sidney, and Kennedy Tyczkowski. He is further survived by his in-laws, Duke and Judy Tegen, and two sisters-in-law and their families: Jan and Lynn (Tegen) Malchow (Andy and Katie Matzke and children Sylvie and Huxley) and Todd and Cheri (Tegen) Lowney (son Tegen).
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Mike Monday, and great-nephew, Mason Tyczkowski.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community (3425 Willow Road, Green Bay) from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow at The Woods Golf Club (530 Erie Road, Green Bay) at 12:30 PM.
Dan’s wife would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all their care and support. And to the families, who were so kind and supportive during his illness and hospital stay.
