Gardner - Age 87, completed his life's journey here on earth on his birthday, March 4, in Joliet.

Born March 4, 1938, in Eureka, Illinois, to Basil and Ruth (Diehl) Bell, he graduated from Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School and served in the U.S. Army.

Daniel served on the Tazewell County Board for over 20 years, including four as chairman (1980-1984).

Daniel married Kay Pickles in 2002, sharing 23 years together.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Bell of Gardner; children, Brian Bell of Washington, Illinois, and Danette (Robert) Hadfield of Metamora, Illinois; four step children; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol (Tom) Bell-Shelly of Excelsior, Minnesota.

Visitation is Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Reeves Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gardner Emergency Squad, Church of Hope, or a dog rescue of choice.

Funeral services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory (815-237-2526).
