Daniel Bourgeois Obituary
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Sunday, April 30, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 1, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a liturgy of the Word at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Terrebonne Memorial Park in Houma, LA.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley Sampay Bourgeois; sons, Daniel P. Bourgeois Jr. and wife, Edith "Sue", Barry J. Bourgeois and wife, Debbie, Tommy J. Bourgeois and wife, Cheryl, Ronald P. Bourgeois and wife, Toni, Kenneth P. Bourgeois, and Phillip P. Bourgeois and wife, Evelina; daughters, Susan B. Clark, Glenda B. Brunet and husband, Russell Jr., Gloria B. Dardar and husband, Paul Sr., and Sheila B. Sillavan; sons-in-law, Chris Breedlove Sr., and Kenneth F. Sillavan; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol B. Bleedlove; parents, Paul and Alberta Hebert Bourgeois; brothers, Gerard, Leroy, and Carroll Bourgeois; sister, Charlotte B. Melancon.
Daniel was a very hard-working man. He loved spending time with his family having parties and dancing. He enjoyed going to his property in Mississippi where he gardened and hunted, and spending all day in his boat fishing alone or with his family.
