Daniel Carpinello Obituary

Carpinello, Daniel
EAST SCHODACK - Daniel F. Carpinello, 89, of East Schodack, died comfortably at home surrounded by his family. Raised in Hampton Manor, N.Y., by his parents Anthony and Katherine Carpinello.
Dan joined the Army at the age of 17 and was deployed to Korea as a combat medic, returning stateside as a paratrooper. In 1955, after his time in the service, Dan married the love of his life Marjorie Brown; a marriage which lasted 69 years and a love that will last forever. He was an operating engineer for Local 106 and a proud union member for 55 years.
Always on the move, Dan was a lover of hunting and fishing as well as travel, visiting all 50 states and many countries with his wife by his side.
He will be remembered for his unique personality and as a jack of all trades, taking on any project, large or small. Whenever help was needed Dan was there (pipe in hand) to share his skills and knowledge (tell you the right way to do it), always making an effort to help and to teach. With an open door, Dan and Marge welcomed anyone into their home to share a coffee, a meal and certainly plenty of stories. Through these stories, memories and lessons, Dan will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know and love him.
Daniel was predeceased by his brothers, Pete and Frankie; as well as his grandson, Jasen Shults. He is survived by wife, Marjorie R.; his four daughters, Joyce Carpinello, Michele (Peter) Hibbs, Tracey (Gary d.2002) Schmidbauer, Toni (Bret) McIntyre; and grandchildren, Danielle (Omar), Joshua (Elizabeth), Devin, Alexander; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Geraldine (Larry) Baird. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends, many of whom he considered to be his children.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, November 14, 2024. A funeral home service will be held the following day, November 15 at 10 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
A special thanks to the staff of the Albany VA and community hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AMC Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be offered at www.wjlyonsfuneralhome.com
