Daniel James Conway, 77, of Mayville, ND passed away on Sunday at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville.

Dan was born July 23, 1947, in Glendale CA to Harold and Dolores (Lande) Conway. Dan attended Magnolia High School where he graduated in 1965. After High School Dan joined the United States Army where he served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 with the rank of E5.

Dan had various careers as an entrepreneur, owning the Brahaus in Mayville and Conway Trucking in Medford Oregon. Dan also had careers as construction project managers for Grace Restaurant Group and Kinkos in CA.

Dan and Cheryl were married in Mayville on December 30, 1983, and celebrated their 41st anniversary last December.

Dan enjoyed working with his hands whether it was building something brand new or restoring antique items like horse carriage or old tractors. Dan was never short of having a story to tell and never missed an opportunity to share one with any of his grandkids or great grandkids. Dan also enjoyed all kinds of racing but really enjoyed IndyCar. Dan was given the opportunity to participate in a virtual Honor Flight tour and a welcome home celebration surrounded by family and friends.

Dan is survived by his wife Cheryl of Mayville; sister Judi in AZ; brother Mike in ID; daughters Andrea (Marc) Quarentello of Corona CA, Tiffany (Matt) Urton of Escondido CA; sons Dale (Elisabeth) Dauenhauer of Lincoln NE, and Scott (Kala) Dauenhauer of Mayville, ND. Dan had 10 grandchildren: Justin (Becky), Zach, Aaron, Brittanie (Patrick), Josh, Donovan (Jessikah), Adam, David, Dylan and Daniel, Tristan, Alyssa; 4 great grandchildren: Oliver, Kaleb, Royal and Aurora. Dan also has 14 nephews and 2 nieces.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dee, his brother Jeff, nephews Shane, Andy, Sam, Jacob and grandson Patrick.

Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.

Military Honors: May~Port Honor Guard and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors.
