Daniel "Dan" Patrick Cunningham, age 64, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Dan was born on March 17, 1961, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late James "Jim" and Mary Cunningham. After graduating high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably for 25 years as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Even after retiring from the military, Dan remained disciplined and committed to his daily routines.
He lived a modest life, finding joy in life's simple pleasures-whether it was grilling with his family or relaxing with his favorite coffee mug, that never saw soap and water, faithfully watching Fox News. Known for his strong work ethic and selfless nature, Dan always put the needs of others ahead of his own.
A passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, game days were held in high regard in the Cunningham household. Dan also had a deep love for music, especially rock and roll. His favorite band was Led Zeppelin, and it was not uncommon to hear their music blasting from his car long before he arrived home.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Robin; his daughter, Katie; sisters, Aggie, Karen, Ann, and Joy; brother, Al "Buzzy"; mother-in-law, Christel; sister-in-law, Audrey; brother-in-law, Ed; nieces, Angel and Karley; nephews, JJ and Jacob; and his cherished pets, Dudley and Little One. He also leaves behind many dear friends from across the globe.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Joe.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday May 31, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dan's name to the Gary Sinese Foundation at https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/
