Daniel Robert Drenckhahn
September 29, 1973 – January 13, 2026

Daniel Robert Drenckhahn, known to all as Dan, passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born on September 29, 1973, in Tucson, Arizona, to Earl Drenckhahn and Rita Finley. Though born in Arizona, Dan grew up in southeast Minnesota, where he spent his life.

Dan was a strong soul with a soft heart. He was resourceful and could do just about anything with his hands-building, fixing, creating, and making things better than he found them. A skilled construction worker, Dan took pride in his work and had a natural talent for craftsmanship. He loved polishing and collecting rocks and was always happiest when working with his hands.

He was a fun-loving dad, a natural comedian, and often laughed hardest at his own jokes. Dan would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and his generosity and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

A devoted Denver Broncos fan, Dan rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team. He also deeply loved his loyal canine companion, Bosco, who brought him constant comfort and companionship.

Dan found peace at his safe haven, the family farm, where he loved to spend time and recharge his spirit. Above all else, the greatest highlight of his life was his son, Wyatt, who shared his love of speakers and making noise together.

Dan is survived by his son, Wyatt Drenckhahn; daughters, Danyelle and Brooklyn Portillo; his father, Earle Drenckhahn (Linda Brown); siblings, Kaloni Drenckhahn, Brad Drenckhahn, Kathy Drenckhahn, Vickie DeWitte, and Julie Gustavson; niece, Sunni Douty; nephew, Kyle Drenckhahn, Maverick Norton; and many friends who were more like family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Drenckhahn; his brother, Jack Erdmann; and his niece, Amie DeWitte.

Dan will be remembered for his giving heart, his hardworking hands, and the love he had for his family. "There ain't no sunshine when you're gone."
