Daniel John Emerald

DANIEL JOHN EMERALD, 75, of Washington, PA, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was born March 28, 1950 in Hyannis, MA, son of the late John Emerald and Jean Grainger Dowling. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Michal Lindell Howard Emerald (2019).

Daniel was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wintersville, OH. He graduated from Bridgewater State College and worked as an engineer in computer programming and telecommunications.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Emerald of Falmouth, MA; sons, Daniel Emerald of Weirton, WV, Joseph Emerald, Andrew Emerald both of Berkshires, MA, and Kristofer Emerald (Danielle) of Weirton, WV; partner, Karen Mounts; grandchildren, Cristina, Zoe, Spencer, and honorary grandchildren Gabriele and Cody; brother, James Emerald; and sister, JoAnn Emerald.

Funeral service will take place Tuesday, September 2nd at 2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 437 Powells Lane, Wintersville, OH, with Bishop Debusca presiding. Inurnment will take place with his beloved Michal at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton, WV.
