ROBERT "BOB" A. HICKS, JR., 74, of Weirton, WV, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 3, 1950 in Toronto, OH, son of the late Robert Hicks, Sr. and Nellie Davis Hicks. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Tina Majewski and Aaris Hicks.
Bob graduated from Toronto High School where he played basketball and football. He was hardworking and had a great work ethic. He retired from First Energy as a Maintenance Foreman after 42 years. He enjoyed getting together with the retirees once a month in Toronto. Bob was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where he served as Youth Director for 11 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Weirton Lions Club.
Bob was often described as kind and funny. He loved being "Da" and PapPap to his grandchildren, who absolutely adored him. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed tinkering with projects in his garage.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene; children, Robert A. Hicks III (Alethea), Kimberly Ann Hicks, and Jennifer Lynn Stoll (Dwayne); grandchildren, Heidi, Emily, Aaliyah, Celine, Kylie and Charlie; twin sister, Brenda Cromer, sister, Doreen Meeks; and a great many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Monday, May 12 from 4-7pm at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 3721 Main Street, Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday at 11am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton with Rev. Fr. Binu Sebastian presiding. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
