Daniel John Fling
November 14, 2025
Dan, 75, was born on June 19, 1950 and passed at home on November 14, 2025. He was born in Sioux Falls, SD and is the oldest of 3 children born to John and Phyllis Fling. He grew up primarily around Milwaukee, WI. He is survived by his mother Phyllis, sister Catherine and her husband Dennis, brother Michael (deceased), son Reuben and 2 beautiful granddaughters Taylor and Chrystiana.
Dan served his country in the Vietnam War in the late 60s and early 70s and was a proud member of the USAF. Utilizing his USAF skills he worked in the Aerospace industry as an engineer with many years spent in the Shuttle Program. For 31 years he dedicated himself to WSTF as QA Engineer and a dedicated member of the Test3 team. His commitment, expertise and steady presence made a lasting impact on everyone that worked alongside him.
He was also a member of the local Raymond L. Greene VFW Post 6917 for over 25 years. There, he built lasting relationships, enjoyed doing the shopping for the Toys for Tots Christmas drive and every 1st Saturday of the month he would happily volunteer to cook the pancakes and french toast for the Post breakfasts, He also loved making his deviled eggs and bringing them to others to enjoy.
Dan was a private man but was also a joy to be around and had many friends and an unforgettable laugh. He did not want traditional funeral services. If you would like to honor him he would have preferred donations for children's Toys for Tots and for friends and loved ones to celebrate his life and not to mourn.
May he rest in peace with God by his side.
