Daniel R. Fowlkes, 93, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg.  Born April 5, 1928, he is the son of the late Daniel Roy Fowlkes, Sr. and Mary Virginia Banks Fowlkes.  Mr. Fowlkes was a retired Insurance Adjuster and Sales and a life-long member of Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  He lived a long and wonderful life with family who loved him and good friends who shared many happy times.  He loved the Lord, his church and his family.  All who knew him knew of his love for fishing.  Hardly a day passed that he wasn’t out on the lake enjoying the beauty of the day and his quest for a fish.  He will be missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Annetta Camp with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sally Gee Fowlkes; four daughters, Ginny Hall (Gene), Anna Cutler (Dale), Mary Hurst (Marty), all of Dyersburg; Sally Ben-Moyal (David) of Houston, TX and one son, John Fowlkes (Janet) of Dyersburg; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dan H. Fowlkes and his brother, Will Doc Fowlkes.
