Daniel Frazee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2025.
Daniel Clark Frazee, 81, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on July 25, 1944, in Lima, Ohio, and grew up in Sioux City, Iowa.

After graduating high school, Daniel answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964. His career spanned more than 27 years, culminating in his retirement as a Lieutenant Commander in the Nurse Corps in June 1991. As an Operating Room Surgical Nurse, Daniel's steady hands and compassionate heart helped countless service members throughout the world. His tours carried him across every continent, crossing the Arctic Circle, the 180th Meridian, and the Antarctic Circle aboard the U.S.S. Atka, with additional assignments on numerous other ships and vessels. His dedication, service, and care left a lasting mark on all those he served beside.

Following his retirement from the Navy, Daniel continued his calling as a surgical nurse in Illinois and Nevada, serving patients with the same compassion and commitment for another 20 years.

Beyond his medical and military career, Daniel lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He had an adventurous spirit and found joy in fishing, sailing, and building intricate models. A man who never met a stranger, Daniel was known for his charisma, easy laughter, and his deep, soulful voice that drew people in. He delighted in singing in the choir at Advent Methodist Church in Las Vegas, playing lively polkas on his accordion, and was always ready to drop a bass line from Sha Na Na.

Daniel is preceded in death by his previous wife, Thelma N. Frazee, and his stepson, Edward Anderson, Ph.D. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jil Frazee; his brother, Del Frazee; his daughters, Tina Pratt and Terri Mayer; along with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory with love and pride. His ashes will be buried at sea, a place he loved deeply and found peace.

Though no funeral service will be held, Daniel's family and friends will forever carry his memory as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, sailor, nurse, and friend whose compassion and warmth touched the lives of many. His legacy lives on not only in the service he gave to his country but also in the joy, music, and kindness he shared so freely. To him we say, with love and gratitude: Fair winds and following seas.
