Daniel Lee Funk, 72, of Corrales, New Mexico, completed his final earthly journey and entered eternal rest on February 21, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Naomi Funk.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kathryn; his sister, Lorraine, and her husband, George; his nephew, Kyle; and a large extended family and friends who cherished him dearly.
Dan retired from Sandia National Laboratories, serving as a security police officer. He lived a life marked by strength, loyalty, and a love of adventure. Above all, he cherished the life he built with Kathryn. Their 52-year marriage was a remarkable love story defined by devotion, partnership, and a lifetime of shared memories.
His greatest adventure has just begun. He will forever be in our hearts.
Services will be held on March 5 at Daniels Funeral Home, located at 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
