Robert Joseph Demeule sailed away to a beach in the sky on a day with clear blue skies.
We will hold a celebration of his life to gather and toast him at a later date.
Rob lived a life of adventure, and passed away peacefully at home at age 57, after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and grew up in Baltimore, MD. His many adventures included a cross country bicycle trip with good friends, stints as a bike messenger in both Seattle and Baltimore, a season working on Alaska fishing boats ("Deadliest Catch" style), working on offshore oil rigs in Louisiana, sailing trips in the Florida Keys, the Pacific and Mediterranean seas, summiting Mount Rainier, many camping, rock climbing, skiing, hiking, surfing or white water rafting trips and other epic adventures too numerous to list. He was always up for an adventure. He was also a Renaissance man and jack of all trades.
His travels eventually led him to Albuquerque, where he earned his degree in civil engineering at UNM. While in Albuquerque, he married Kristen and had 2 children, who he loved deeply. He continued to live life to the fullest with many new adventures with his family and many friends. He worked as Vice President/Managing Principal at Huitt-Zollars.
He leaves behind his son, Finn, daughter, Alma, ex-wife, Kristen, parents Robert and Gabrielle, siblings Marah, Sean and Michelle, brother-in-law, John, nieces and nephews Audrey, Tripp, Cole and Braden, and many extended family and good friends across the country.
He was an amazing human being who will be forever in our hearts.
