Trujillo Family Funeral HomeMartln R. Baca
December 23, 1957 – February 21, 2026
Martln R. Baca, a lifelong resident of the Bernalillo area and a devoted father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, sportsmanship, and cherished memories.
Born on December 23, 1957, in Albuquerque, Martln was raised in Bernalillo, where he developed a deep connection to his community. A proud Spartan, he graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1976 contributing to the great legacy that is Bernalillo basketball. In 1983, Martin married the love of his life, Cecile, with whom he built a beautiful life and family until her passing in 2017. In sorrow after Cecile’s passing, Martln carried on providing a good example of a life well lived to his children and grandchildren
Martin was happiest when he was outdoors or on the court. He was an avid fisherman and camper, finding peace in the nature of New Mexico. His love for basketball was well-known, but his true joy came from passing that passion down to the next generation. For years, Martin was a familiar face at the local ball fields, coaching his children in Little League and mentoring countless young athletes with patience and heart.
Martin is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Cecile A. Baca; his parents, Carlos and Inez Baca; and his siblings, Leroy Baca and Mary Ann Baca.
His memory will be carried on by those he loved most. Martln leaves behind his children: Manuel Baca (Lupe), Martin "Bo" Baca (fiancée Barbara Goodacre), and Cristina Thomson (Mark). His grandchildren: Martin, Rebecca, Aayden, Lauren, Nathaniel, Tristan, and Annalicia, his siblings: Dolores Baca, Lillian Baca (John McDonald), Carlos Baca, Frances Baca (Julie Anongos), and Christine Baca (Marty Bartoli) and his loving girlfriend, Donna Verdes.
Martin’s warmth, his competitive spirit on the court, and his dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
