Dan Golec, 64 years old, died peacefully in his home on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Dan was a family guy that worked his whole life making sure that his family was taken care of. He loved his neighbors and coworkers like they were family too and was always kind and generous with all that he encountered. He worked for over 20 years at Graphic Packaging in Carol Stream and retired February 1 and was ready for the next chapter that time would offer him.
Dan is survived by his wife, Mary K. (Anderson) Golec; son, Raymond P. McGarvey (Heather); daughter, Nichole McGarvey; daughter, Haley Golec (Ricky) and son, Charles Golec. Dan and Mary K have nine grandchildren, Raymond McGarvey, Jr., Brandon McGarvey, Jonathan McGarvey, Alex McGarvey, Jakob McGarvey, Elizabeth Fregoso, Justin Fregoso, Amelia (Golec) Jimenez and Sebastian (Golec) Cortez. Dan has two brothers, Ron Golec and Bill Golec; two sisters, Sandra Lindsay and Susan Golec; his dog, Lily and his cat, Loki.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Lorraine Golec; his sister, Susan Golec; his beloved dog, Frank and his beloved cats, Mookie and Tiki.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9 2023 from 12 p.m. until the service hour of 4 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

I am very sorry to hear of Dan´s passing. Although we may have lost touch through the years, I still remember the fun we had at Christmas, birthdays and many other family gatherings as we were growing up. Unfortunately I am in California and will not be able to attend services but I will plant a tree in his honor. Having experienced the loss of loved ones, I know how difficult this can be. My sincerest condolences to his family.
