In loving memory of Daniel Francis Goodrow, Sr., who sadly passed away on August 16, 2024, in Elizabethtown. Born on September 24, 1953, in Plattsburgh, NY, Dan was a dedicated heavy equipment operator for Ray Manley Construction, spending years constructing roads in Keene Valley and sharing his talents as a skilled stone mason.
He could often be found indulging in his favorite pastime of watching TV or engaging in conversations with anyone who crossed his path. Known for his knack for tinkering with things, Dan could fix just about anything with his trusty monkey wrench. He relished in the comfort of Connie's cooking, loved spending time with his buddies, and had a special talent for working on small engines.
Dan was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Goodrow, II in March of this year; his sister Mary; and his parents.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters Christina (Howard, Jr.) Drake and Rebecca Goodrow; his daughter-in-law Connie Goodrow, who was his caregiver for the last 12 years; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Dan's life will take place at the Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, on August 26, 2024, with calling hours from 5:00 to 5:30 pm, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 pm.
Please join us for a reception at Connie's home following the service, where we can gather to share stories and memories.
Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY.
