Daniel Lee (Danny) Grieshaber, 91, born October 25, 1933 on a farm northwest of St. Marys, KS, the son of the late Albert F. and Louise C. (Thowe) Grieshaber, died quietly July 27, 2025, at the St. Marys Manor, after a very brief illness.
He graduated from the Pleasant View (country) Grade School, then from the St. Marys High School. He played a cornet in the high school band.
He was drafted into the US Army , serving 18 months in Berlin, Germany, and did a limited amount of traveling while in Europe.
Upon retiring from a career as a finish carpenter, working in Topeka, he continued farming on his own farming operation, as well as with his two brothers, on the family farm.
Being mechanically inclined, he had the ability to create and repair many items.
He was a quiet person, yet enjoyed attending farm auctions, and bringing home items for his projects. He continued actively tinkering with his activities in good health until the very end.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and Melvin Lichte, of St. Louis. He is survived by his two brothers, Charles Grieshaber of St. Marys, and Raymond Grieshaber of Lenexa.
His wish was to be cremated, his remains buried privately in the family plots at Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys.
Danny wanted to pass quietly and without ceremony. He requested no memorials and no flowers.
