April 12,1943 – September 7, 2024Daniel "Danny" George Haddad, 81, was born in Worcester Massachusetts, and grew up in West Boylston, MA. He graduated from West Boylston High School in 1961, then served in the United States Army from 1961-1964.
Soon after that, he relocated to San Francisco, California and joined the peace movement. Danny, or Dan, as he was affectionately known, returned to the Worcester area in 1968 joining the electronic industry in making circuit boards. When political disrup-tion ended the business Dan opened a Middle Eastern restaurant he cleverly named, "Cool Abdul's", located on Chandler St. in Worcester. The flavorful menu, along with his own unique and lively vibe, always drew crowds. He later turned his focus to the arts, having acquired many skills from his father, also an artist, who founded Haddad Sign Company, in Worcester. Dan primarily created art out of copper. To add variety to its monotone color, Dan began experi-menting by applying chemicals to the copper. The results were quite unique. These one-of-a-kind, multi-colored copper etchings were sold up and down the east coast. One etching found its way into the Arizona State House, another is hanging in the Balloon Museum in Normandy France.
He also printed, and gave away, many copper poem etchings of "The Desiderata" by Max Ehrmann, which begins "Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remem-ber what peace there may be in silence " In 1987 Danny moved to Florida and ran a successful Bed and Breakfast. He spent many years doing what he loved, developing 3 of his inventions in the sporting field and creating his art. At his death he had 5 U.S patents to his credit. He also explored artistic metal-sculpture, and during this time created a wide varie-ty of furniture pieces as well as art. His exhibits included the Bascum Louise Mu-seum in Highlands, NC. Danny's most popular creations were his unique lamps and one of a kind articulated coffee tables. Daniels artwork evolved into making one of a kind, and custom-made painted metal fish which he sold out of his own gallery, Sterling's Garage in Rockledge, FL. In 2018 he sold his gallery and retired to Merritt Island, still creating art at home. His friends and family will miss Danny as he never ceased to amaze them with his stories of adventure, inventions, musical talent and artwork. They will fondly re-member his eclectic enthusiasm, unique imagination, grand sense of humor, joyful zest for life and genuine down to earth demeanor. Danny will be remembered for his engaging personality, which made it easy for him to connect with others, which sometimes led to adventures around the world. Throughout his life, as in death, Danny was a person who steered his own ship, and didn't worry about conforming to expectations. He was candid, transparent, brave and authentic. He sincerely cared for, and contributed to the many causes he believed in:
Peace for Palestine, Greenpeace and Native American Indian causes. Danny is predeceased by his parents,George and Vivian (Lena Ghiz) Haddad.A celebration of life memorial will be scheduled in his home community of Coco Beach, Florida, and in Worcester, MA. Burial arrangements are planned for Hope Cemetery in Worcester, and will be announced at a future date.

Danny had a bi-coastal idea in mind when we met in San Francisco 1981. One of his copper etchings hangs on my wall. Talented, enthusiastic, passionate man who found an opportunity/friendship in everyone he met. Helped him move to Florida - that´s a whole other story! Miss you already! Peace. Love Katherine

Dan was an awesome artist, who made some very unique sculptures and furniture. It was a pleasure knowing Dan. He will be missed. Prayers for the family.
