Born on May 3, 1957 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Bruno and Mabel (Barnes) Herold and was raised in White Mills. Dan most enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He worked most of his life as a logger and mason.
Surviving are his daughters, Wendy Kramer and husband Eric of Hawley, Tina Bayly and partner, John Young of Bethany and Jessica Schwab and fiancee, Zach Jones of South Canaan; his 3 grandchildren, Chloe Kramer of Hawley, Rachael and Rosalyn Bayly of Beach Lake. Dan is also survived by his sisters, Maryann Fotusky of Waymart and Rosemary Posdon of Honesdale; several nieces and nephews, George Herold, Karen Perera, Alberta Quick, Patricia Fotusky, Maryann Rosler, Joseph Posdon III and Mark Posdon.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Herold and niece, Christine Fotusky Soja.
Dan's family would like to thank all his friends and family for their outpouring love and support during this difficult time. It has been a true testament to what a wonderful man he truly was.
A celebration of life will be held for all at the White Mills Community Fire Hall on Sunday, October 12th at noon.. Cremation arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
