Daniel Herweg

Daniel J. Herweg, age 69, of Des Plaines, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February

15, 2026.

Born at the U.S. Army hospital in Wurzburg, Germany September 16, 1956, to the late

Donald B. and Margaret Herweg while his father was stationed there.

Daniel was the loving brother to Donna (Herweg) Bacon, Deborah (Herweg) Fitzgerald,

Donald R. (Bonny), and Douglas (Donna).

Beloved uncle to Patrick (Talissa) Bacon, Cynthia (Scott) Springer, Jackie Bacon, Pattie

(Pete) Klingler, Donald L. Herweg, Dakota Herweg, and Josef Herweg. Beloved great

uncle to Janiyah, Jordyn, Jayce, Jaelani, Aleena and Chandler.

A true lover of nature and the Northwoods, Daniel was passionate about fishing and

going on annual fishing trips. He also enjoyed attending live music festivals and

concerts. He loved doing these things, spending time with family and friends. Daniel

was also a model railroad enthusiast who showcased his creative artistic abilities while

engaged in the hobby.

He was a longtime parishioner of St. Emily's parish and will be deeply missed by all who

knew his love, kindness and humor.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 2 nd , at St. Emily's Church, with visitation from

9:30-10:30AM, and Mass at 10:30AM.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or

Wounded Warrior Project.
