Daniel Hrncir Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Triska Funeral Home - El Campo on Feb. 10, 2026.
Daniel Edward Hrncir "Paw Paw" of Louise passed away February 10, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born June 14, 1941, in Schulenburg, Texas, to the late Stanley and Alice Breska Hrncir. A man of quiet strength and a "big heart," Dan's life was defined by his dedication to his country, his community, and above all, his family.

Dan served honorably in the U.S. Army and the National Guard and dedicated many years of service as a retired Harris County Deputy. In 1978, he made a life-changing decision for his family, moving them from Houston to Hillje, Texas, where he returned to the land and became a farmer like his father.

Though he was a man of few words, his love was spoken through his actions and his presence. He was happiest when he was out in his barn, tinkering and fixing equipment, or tending to the farm. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was grabbing lunch at Prasek's, target shooting, or enjoying a competitive game of dominoes.

His family was his greatest pride. Dan was a constant, supportive pillar for his children and especially his grandchildren, never missing a chance to attend major milestones in their lives. His quiet gaze from the crowd was a source of unwavering strength for those he loved.

Dan was a dedicated leader in his community, serving as a WCEC director for 9 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 251 and the Legion Honor Guard, the 100 Club, the Knights of Columbus #9394, and an honorary member of the Louise Fire Dept.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delores Heimann Hrncir of Louise; children, Donna Hrncir Garcia of Louise, Deborah "Debbie" Hrncir Veselka and husband Andrew of Louise, Daniel Edward Hrncir Jr and wife Debbie of Arden, NC, Dina Vajdos of Lousie, and David Allen Hrncir and wife Mary of Cypress; grandchildren, Ashley Garcia, Brittany Veselka Payne and husband Scott, Thomas Garcia, Joshua Veselka and wife Marilyn, Chelsea Veselka Davis and husband Hunter, Macy Hrncir, Alyssa Garcia, Kirsten Vajdos, David Hrncir II, Matthew Hrncir and wife Maddie, Robert Charles "R.C." Vajdos, Madison Hrncir, Aidan Hrncir, and Brayson Hrncir; and 11 great grandchildren.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Stanley Hrncir Jr. and Bernard Hrncir, granddaughter Whitney Nicole Hrncir, and son-in-law Thomas "Kookie" Garcia.

Visitations will be from 4 pm to 6 pm Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Triska Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am Monday, February 16, 2026, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am with Rev. Wayne Flagg officiating. Graveside services will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251.

Pallbearers: Thomas Garcia, Joshua Veselka, David Hrncir II, Matthew Hrncir, R.C. Vajdos, Aidan Hrncir, and Brayson Hrncir.

Honorary bearers: Ashley Montes, Brittany Payne, Chelsea Davis, Macy Hrncir, Alyssa Hernandez, Kirsten Vajdos, and Madison Hrncir.

This is my husband´s cousin. Gus is unable to post a message but I have told him of Daniel´s passing and he sends his condolences. Gus loved his Uncle Stanley and his family and has many fond memories of the times they would get together.
