Daniel C. Jensen

"Daniel Charles "Lt. Dan" Jensen, 54, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on January 16, 2026. Born on August 17, 1971, in Seattle, Washington, Dan was the beloved son of the late David and Donna Jensen.

Dan proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving as an Infantryman with the 7th Infantry Division, 4th Battalion. Following his military service, he continued a life of service through counter-drug operations, later working as a correctional officer at Shafter Correctional Facility. He concluded his professional career as an Operating Engineer with Local 12, where he worked for ten years-doing what he loved most: playing in the dirt. Whether on a job site or behind the controls of heavy equipment, Dan found joy in construction and took great pride in building something lasting, leaving a legacy through his work helping to build and strengthen the Isabella Dam, a project that will protect and serve the community for generations.

Dan's greatest passion and aspiration was his family. He cherished creating memories and embarking on adventures with those he loved most. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, longboarding, and spending time at the ocean. Known for being the loudest one in the room, Dan also had a presence that commanded respect-when he spoke, people listened. He was admired for his humor, infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up a room, along with his natural ability to inspire and lead.

A devoted man of faith, Dan was an active member of Valley Baptist Church and often reminded others to "Give it to God" during difficult times.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Amora Jensen; his daughters, Ashley Ingersoll, Madison Jensen, and Michaela Jensen; his sons, Angel Ledesma, Nick Jensen, and Jade Jensen; his grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Dominic, Mark, Mikayla, Camren, Adam, Damian, Liam, Cillian, and Siobhan; and his brothers, Chris Jensen and Tony Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. and the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held that evening at The Links at Riverlakes Ranch in Bakersfield, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dan's legacy lives on in the laughter he shared, the lives he touched, the work he built with his hands, and the unwavering love he had for his family.
