It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Clyde Jernigan, a beloved resident of Macon, Georgia, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 69.
Daniel was born on Thursday, August 16, 1956, in Athens, Georgia. He was a cherished son, devoted father and grandfather, loving brother, and loyal friend whose life reflected kindness, integrity, and quiet strength.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Johnny Latimer Jernigan and Ruby Nell Jernigan, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into eternal rest.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jernigan; his son, William Daniel Jernigan; his daughter, Ann Marie Jernigan; his brother, Johnny Jefferson Jernigan; his grandson, William Tyler Jernigan; and his daughter-in-law, Christin Kennedy. He is also lovingly remembered by his nephews, Greg Jernigan, Wesley Jernigan, and Tracy Jernigan, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A dedicated and highly skilled professional, Daniel devoted 38 years of service to Colonial Pipeline Company, where he retired in 2017 as a Senior Electrical Technician. Throughout his career, he worked in Albany, Bainbridge, Atlanta, and Macon, Georgia, earning deep respect for his expertise, work ethic, and unwavering commitment. The friendships he formed and the contributions he made will be fondly remembered by colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional life, Daniel was a man of remarkable passion and purpose. He was a Master Falconer, devoted to the care, rehabilitation, and release of birds of prey back into the wild. His greatest joy was his red-tailed hawk, Lucky, who was his trusted companion for 12 years. Daniel’s dedication to wildlife reflected his generous heart and deep respect for nature.
Daniel also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing chess and tennis, pursuits that reflected both his thoughtful mind and active spirit.
Daniel’s life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and humility. He touched the lives of many with his warm spirit and generous heart, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to sign the online registry and share memories of Daniel at www.fairhavenmacon.com.
FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services has the honor of being entrusted with the arrangements for Daniel’s final journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Daniel’s memory to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of giving and compassion.
