It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Daniel Clinton Johnson III on January 11, 2026. He was 83 years old.
He was born on March 6,1942 in Savannah, Georgia, to parents Daniel Clinton Johnson Jr. and Lillian Inez Rives.
He attended and graduated Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA. Like his father, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed Andersen A.F.B. on Guam until he was transferred to Keesler A.F.B in Biloxi MS.
He leaves behind a sister, Mary Francis Whitaker (Herb) that he loved very much. He had three sons with his ex-wife Jane Bennett (Nutt), Daniel Clinton Johnson, Christopher Johnson (Margaret), Greg Johnson (Sherri). He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Shirley Johnson (Stewart) with whom he had a stepdaughter, Melanie Wilson Jernigan (Chris). In addition, he had nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his dog, "Ginger", his faithful companion for many years.
He enjoyed joining his friends for worship at Orlinda Baptist Church where he was a member for 40+ years. He loved playing golf, fishing, camping and projects around the house.
At his request, there will be no service. Any donations can be made in memory to Daniel Clinton Johnson III to the American Cancer Society.
