Gail Lackey, beloved mother to two children, 81, of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully on 12.22.25, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Nashville in 1944. Gail attended Hume Fogg High School before starting a career as a legal secretary and working her way up to administrator at the Nashville School of Law. She later made the decision to return to school and graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Business administration. From there she became a successful Medical Billing Coder in Radiology at Vanderbilt University.
Gail was a devoted mother and took special joy in gardening, singing and loved to read. Community service was important to her as she worked through multiple organizations to aid with underprivileged children, animal welfare and feeding the homeless.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents and 4 of her siblings, and is survived by children Merrill (Jesse) and David (Renae) and grandson, Sean who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Funeral services to be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, TN on Saturday February 21, 2026. Visitation at 10:30am with service to follow.
