Daniel "Danny" Joseph Karkotsky, Sr., 77, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. Danny was known for his gregarious personality and infectious sense of humor.
Danny was born on August 16, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, and raised by Michael and Margaret Karkotsky. After graduating from Chamblee (GA) High School, Danny went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Business Administration at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 1986, Danny met Sharon Cahill at Northern Telecom in Atlanta. Danny and Sharon were married in May 1987 and went on to have 4 children - Daniel Jr., Jonathan, Andrew, and Melissa.
Danny was always the life of the party and would talk to anyone and everyone, with a funny saying for every situation and a special place in his heart for fettuccine alfredo and carrot cake. His ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on family, friends, and customers alike, and he will be remembered by his contagious laughter and unconditional love.
Danny was predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret, his mother-in-law Joanne, and sister Mickey. He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Dana, Kimberly, Daniel Jr., Jonathan (Roxanne), Andrew (Lauren), and Melissa. He was a cherished brother to Raymond, Tim, Terry, Jimmy, Tammy, and Patrick, and was loved as a son-in-law by John, and brother-in-law and uncle by the extended Cannon, Cox, Saxon, Sroczynski, Dejuri, D'Agostino, and Cahill families.
Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, December 7, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A calling hour will precede the service from 10am to 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Foster Love Project, or the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association.
