Daniel Keesling Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 14, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel James Keesling, on August 13, 2025. He died peacefully at Lourdes Senior Community with family by his side.

Born on March 24, 1934 in Pontiac, Michigan, Dan was a loving father who led a fulfilling life. He was the beloved son of John and Frances Keesling.

Dan shared his life and love with his high school sweetheart and wife of over 60 years, Shirley. Dan was the captain of St. Mike's football team in high school and Shirley was a cheerleader.

Dan was a loving father to Steve (Kathy), Kenny, Dani-Ann Connolly (Dan), Lori Luxon (Rick), Kathy Keith (Jimmy), Kelly (Teri), Keith, Teresa Ouellette (Bill), Mark and the late Jennifer Maley (Myron). He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will deeply miss him.

Dan was proud to have served in the Navy as an electrician aboard the USS Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, spending time at the cabin and sitting around the camp fire…and in dad's words, "It doesn't get any better than this!"

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Damien of Molokai at St. Michael Catholic Church, 120 Lewis Street, Pontiac. The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have shown their love, support, and condolences during our time of sorrow. Your thoughts and kind words have provided us with peace and strength.
