Of Marble Falls, Texas, age 78, passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.
Born the son of the late Edward A. Kotarski and the late Genevieve (Kaczorowski) Kotarski.
Loving husband of Wendy (Wood) Kotarski for 43 wonderful years.
Proud father of Melissa (John) Sallustio of Rome, NY, Vicki (Chris) Jett of Oak Harbor, OH, Cheryl (Roman) Williams of Pittsburgh, PA, Christi Danielson of McDonald, PA, and the late Daniel (Holly) of Pittsburgh, PA.
Beloved Furdaddy to Sir Duff and Willow and the late Sadie, Tainie, Stormy, Candi, Turbo, L.E., Rambo, Booty, and Cutter.
Grandfather to Chelsea and Allison Jett, Roman, Collin, and Courtney Williams, Jacey Loveless, and Taylor, Madilyn, and Sophia Kotarski.
Preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Niber.
Adored Uncle "Kunk" to Michael Niber, Robbie (Susan) Niber, and Amy (John) Scifo.
Dan was born and raised on the South Side of Pittsburgh and graduated from St. Adalbert Catholic High School. He worked for 22 years at R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (Constellation Energy Group) in Ontario, NY, before retiring in 2008. A devout Catholic, Dan found joy in the outdoors-especially hunting and fishing-and treasured his loyal dogs who shared those moments with him. Above all, Dan was a man devoted to his family. He would do anything for those he loved. Though he called many places home, his heart ended up in Texas. As he often said, quoting Davy Crockett, "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Daniel will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350.
Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's honor to the animal shelter or rescue organization of your choice-a tribute to his deep love for animals and the companions who brought him so much joy.
