Daniel LaFreniere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home on Feb. 8, 2026.
Daniel "Danny" J. LaFreniere, age 79, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital onFebruary 4, 2026, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Callahan) LaFreniere, with whom he had shared over 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Fitchburg, MA, on December 20, 1946, he was a son of the late Albert LaFreniere and Corrine (Hamel) Morgillo, and beloved stepson of the late Anthony Morgillo. Danny was raised in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School, class of 1964. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree at Northeastern University. He then spent his entire career as a quality control manager for A.W. Chesterton in Groveland, Raytheon in Waltham, and later for U.S. Wind Power in Burlington.

Danny was introduced to the love of his life, Janet, at the bowling alley he frequented in Woburn when he was younger. It wasn't long before the two were married and settled down together in Woburn to start their family. As a father, Danny was attentive, fun-loving, and an ever-present source of support for his children. Later, when his grandchildren came along, his capacity to love his family grew even more. Danny lived for the moments watching his grandchildren grow. He always made sure to let his loved ones know just how much he cared for them, always checking in-sometimes a few times a day.

In his free time, Danny enjoyed just about anything that got him involved in friendly competition. From a young age, he would partake in card and pool tournaments with his friends, and enjoyed going down to the track to see the races with them any chance he got. He was also a big golfer when he was most active, spending time on the course with friends. He was also an excellent cribbage player and took great pride in teaching his grandchildren to play-although they may have beaten him a few times throughout the years. He was also an active member in several clubs throughout the city where he served as bar manager.

To his core, Danny was a gregarious, kind-hearted, and attentive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The lengths he went to show his affection for them truly knew no bounds, and will always be remembered for the steadfast support he showed them in their lives.

Along with his loving wife, Janet, Danny is survived by his daughter, Kerrie LaFreniere and her husband Pat Brogna of Woburn, his late daughter Theresa "Terri" Natale and her husband Christopher of Woburn; his 6 cherished grandchildren, Katelyn Natale and her husband Adam, Christopher "CJ" Natale and his girlfriend Renee Leavitt, Jillian Natale, Jessica Ferrara and her husband Kevin, Anthony LaFreniere and his husband Francisco Torres, and Shania LaFreniere; his four adoring great-grandchildren, Luke, as well as Abigail, Penelope, and Vincenzo Ferrara. Danny was a dear brother to the late Albert LaFreniere and Walter LaFreniere, and his siblings-in-law, Linda LaFreniere of Gardner and Helen LaFreniere of Woburn, as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Danny's Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 10th at 10am. at St. Margaret's Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington. At the request of the family, burial services will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Danny's honor may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
