Daniel Lammon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bellows Funerals & Cremations on Feb. 6, 2026.
Cumberland - Daniel J. Lammon, Jr. of Cumberland, RI, unexpectedly passed away on February 1, 2026 at The Miriam Hospital, Providence. Born on February 19, 1948, Dan was the son of the late Daniel J. and Catherine "Kay" (McConnell) Lammon of Corning, NY. He earned his BA from Boston College in 1970 and his MBA from Syracuse University in 1972.

During his 53-year career, Dan managed and directed the sales and marketing divisions of consumer product companies across the country. They included Corning, Inc (CA, IL, NY), A.T. Cross and Fort USA (RI), Vietri, Inc. (NC), and ADT (VA, RI). Since 2018, he has worked at EveryBill in East Providence, RI.

In addition to his wife Nancy (Allison) Lammon, Dan leaves three children of whom he was most proud: Megan (Richard) McFarland of Mamaroneck, NY; Caitrin (Brian) Dunphy of Needham, MA; and Daniel J. (Carrie) Lammon III of Richmond, VA. He was also blessed with six grandchildren: Nolan and Betsy Dunphy, Brynn and Reese McFarland, and Jack and Tommy Lammon.

The ultimate "Swim Dad," Dan spent countless hours at swim meets up and down the Northeast. If he wasn't timing an event, you could find him doing the Times crossword in pen (yes, he was that good). A huge fan of BC Athletics, Dan and his best friend Victor shared season tickets for both football and basketball.

It must be said, however, that one of Dan's greatest passions was his beloved New York Yankees. He adored and understood the nuances of the game and passed his enthusiasm down to his kids. Dan was also devoted to his three late dachshunds, Pickles, Lily, and Max. We are confident they are already begging him for treats and for games of fetch.

We also believe that Dan Lammon was the funniest Dad in the state of Rhode Island. He was quick and witty, and his brilliant and irreverent sense of humor could not be silenced. A master of sarcasm, he made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Dan is also survived by his brother Michael (Cindy) Lammon of Greenville, SC; his sister Christine Lammon (Paul) DeCamp of Cumming, GA, his brother-in-law Charles Nitsche of Geneseo, NY, and his late sister Mary Kay (Lammon) Nitsche also of Geneseo. In addition, he leaves sisters-in-law Sandra Allison Horan and her late husband James of West Hurley, NY and Judith Allison (Kristopher) Bayer of Charleston, SC, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, February 13, at 2:00 pm followed by a prayer service at 3:00 pm at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dan's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
