Daniel J. Magon, 75, of Claysville, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 15, 2025.

He was born in Washington, PA, in 1950, to Raymond and Irene Magon, and was the eldest of four brothers. Dan attended Avella High School, graduating in 1968. After graduation, he served in the National Guard and later worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He went on to work at America's Auto Auction until his retirement in December 2024.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Irene, and his brother, Edward. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Edna; his two sons, Jason of Washington and Justin of Claysville; and his cherished granddaughter, Charlotte of Washington. He is also survived by his brothers, Alan (Barbara) of Nokesville, VA, and William of Avella; his sister-in-law, Judy Magon of Avella; and several nieces and nephews.

Dan was a proud member of the Claysville American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639. A lifelong fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, he also enjoyed farming-especially alongside family friends Tim and Lisa Bioni-and loved the companionship of his dogs.

If you knew Dan, you know he would say, "Shit Happens."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Claysville American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639.

A casual celebration of life will be held at the Claysville American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639, 208 Main St, Claysville, PA 15323, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com
