Daniel Marron Obituary

Daniel Marron III

November 1, 1977 - February 14, 2025

Daniel "Danny " Marron III was welcomed into the world on November 1, 1977, in Yuma, Arizona, by his parents Daniel and Frances Marron, and his older sister, Priscilla. Danny grew up in the Christian faith attending church with his family.

From a young age, Danny's love for baseball flourished, nurtured by his father's coaching. He was a proud graduate of Yuma High School, the University of Arizona, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, and Northern Arizona University, where he earned both a master's degree in counseling and a master's degree in school counseling. As a young adult, Danny dedicated much of his love and time to his nephew, nieces, and extended family.

Danny's career as an educator and counselor spanned twenty-three years, during which he profoundly impacted countless lives of students in the Yuma Union High School District from 2002 to 2022 where he worked as a high school teacher and counselor. He also taught part-time at Arizona Western College 2004-2022. In 2022, he transitioned to a full-time role as a psychology professor at Arizona Western College, where he continued to inspire and mentor students.

Beyond his professional work, Danny was deeply committed to his faith. Danny would often say that his "life verses" were Philippians 4:13 and Proverbs 3:5-6. Baptized together in 2011, Danny and Aryca started their missionary work journey. Danny served as an assistant pastor at Bibleway Church from 2012 to 2015, led youth programs at Stone Ridge Church from 2010 to 2023, and sponsored the AWC Christian Club from 2022 to 2023. He also dedicated time to mentoring young people through Youth for Christ at the high school level from 2008 to 2022. Danny also served in the Kids Ministry, where his daughter Luna regularly attended Stone Ridge Church.

Danny was married to Aryca for twenty years, and together, they cherished their daughter, Luna. Over the years, he embraced fatherhood with unwavering love and dedication. Danny was always hands-on, attending every event and supporting Luna in every aspect of her life, from her first dance class at 2-years-old to her athletic pursuits. Danny was a regular customer at Luna's spa days where she pampered him with skin care routines and painted nails. He cheered her on at every turn, coaching her softball team and encouraging her to explore new sports and activities.

Danny took his health seriously. He trained at Fourth Avenue Gym, his favorite place to work out, seven days a week and paddled regularly. An avid competitive outrigger canoe and standup paddler, Danny's love for the sport began during a trip to Oahu, Hawaii, in 2010. Paddling became his passion, and he worked tirelessly to hone his skills, regularly practicing on the Colorado River and in San Diego. Over the next 15 years, Danny competed in numerous races, including the Pailolo Channel from Molokai to Maui, the Catalina Channel from Avalon to Newport Beach, and multiple races at the annual Hano Hano race in San Diego. In January 2025, Danny and Luna competed together in a two-person outrigger canoe race at the Hano Hano event in Mission Bay, finishing second in their division. It was an experience that deepened their bond, and Luna will forever cherish the memory of sharing her father's passion for paddling. Our family lost Danny during his last outrigger canoe paddle on February 14, 2025.

Danny's impact on the youth of Yuma was immeasurable. He was a mentor, counselor, and role model who uplifted countless young people and provided them with guidance and support. His warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Danny shined brightest in his role as a father and fervently outpouring God's instruction to spread the gospel: The Great Commission. Danny's legacy of family, love, faith, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will forever be missed by all who were touched by his presence.

Danny is survived by his beloved daughter, Luna; the love of his life, Aryca; his parents, Daniel and Frances; his sister, Priscilla (Jerry), his nephew, Arturo, his niece, Roxanne, and many extended family members within the Marron and Arizaga families.

He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Anatalia Martinez and Feliciana and Daniel Marron.

Danny's services will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 am at Stone Ridge Church in Yuma, AZ.

The following pallbearers will escort Danny: Arturo Ramos, Ozmhel Santana, Steven and Christopher Arizaga, Jerry Smith, and Alfredo Campa.

My deepest condolences to the Marron/Arizaga family. Danny was my current professor but he was also my professor for a couple of classes in the past semesters. I remember being so relieved that there finally was a teacher who I could learn from and understand since I have an attention disorder. Everytime I entered his room in the Mac building I felt a genuine lift off my chest. He was my favorite professor because he knew my struggles and he always told me to bother him with questions because all he ever wanted me to do was understand and succeed. He helped me find my love for psychology/sociology and I can´t thank him enough for that because before him, I was so lost in my education but of course being the person he is, he made sure that I knew I was going to be okay. He always said he had faith in me, and I´ll forever keep that close to my heart.

Dearest Frances and Danny, I am at a complete loss for words. I too, have lost a child and I know what a devastation it is to lose a child. My heart aches for you and Danny (Sr.) I am remembering all the talks we had when we both worked at the Resource Center. You were so proud of him and all of his achievements. I miss those days. May your blessed boy rest in peace and may eternal light shine on him. Our deepest condolences to you, Danny and your entire family

When I saw that post on Instagram, I couldn't believe it. He was my teacher that I had last semester. I remember him as always happy and he tried to transmit that same happiness to us with his stories. He always talked about his daughter Luna, that he loved her very much and that she was very funny. Every time he talked about her you could see the sparkle in his eyes. You could tell that he loved his family and that he was a great person. I would have liked to get to know him better. Every day I checked the news to see if they had found him okay because I had hope. I send lots of hugs and condolences to the family for, may he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the family, Danny will be deeply missed even though I personally didn't know Professor Danny that well I found myself opening up to him about things I had going on and he always had the best advice and words of comfort and that itself comes to show what an impact he had on his students by making his class such a safe place with his presence of always being filled with so much positivity everyday I walked into his class, he truly was the best professor I've had here at AWC and he will be deeply missed.

I think that many people were very fortunate to meet Professor Marron, he had a lot to offer as a teacher and a person. Entering his classes was like feeling in a safe place, I learned a lot there and I had fun. His wife and daughter must be super proud of the father that God gave them, he always mentioned them, in each class, and he said how much he loved his family, and that his daughter Luna was super outgoing and very funny. There is no doubt that Danny Marron marked many's lives, and we will miss him.

Words cannot express how much Danny will be missed here on this earth, but my heart is also comforted in knowing that being absent from the body is being present with the Lord for the believer. Rest in peace my brother in Christ!

My family would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Marron family, Aryca, and Luna. I first met Danny ; Mr. Marron as a counselor to two of my kids at Gila Ridge. I remember he helped counsel my older son into taking the classes he needed . He was so kind, helpful and went above and beyond to help us. I remember that he said that he was about to go on leave because his daughter was about to be born, but he would leave me his contact number in case we needed anything else. Years later when Luna was four and about to start Preschool in my class , I recognized his name and realized it was the same person. Having had the plesure of having Luna in my class, I could see how much she loved her family but especially loved her daddy. Watching Danny interact with Luna was a memorable experience, there was so much love and Danny was such a great dad to her . She would tell us stories of how she gave her dad pedicures and new nail polish. She would tell us stories of how she did not like getting up in the morning but her daddy would cradle her like a baby to keep her warm so she wasn't so grouchy. We will keep Danny and family in our prayers.

I had the honor & privilege to be a coach with Coach Danny Marron for our daughters´ Firecrackers softball team last fall. My daughter, Victoria, loved Coach Danny, loves his wife Aryca and their daughter, Luna. Our softball time was made so special because of their whole family. He was kind, patient, and always encouraging toward the girls. He was always positive and saw the humor in every situation. We truly enjoyed being a part of the team and being around him & his family. We are heartbroken, but know he has been called to be with God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our deepest condolences to his family; we will never forget him.

Praying for peace and comfort for the families. Danny was kind, and caring and genuine. I worked with Danny at Hastings Music and Video store back when he was prob 18-19 years old. He was one of my managers. I was older than him but he was always very respectful and just fun to work with. Then years later I was surprised to see him working as a counselor at Gila Ridge where my kids went to school and knew him. He we´ll be greatly missed and forever loved!!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NLT
[13] And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. [14] For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. [15] We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. [16] For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. [17] Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. [18] So encourage each other with these words.

Until we meet again!

Love you, Danny Marron. Some of my best memories as a Sidewinder were with you-always cool, calm, and collected, and getting so excited for snacks. I will truly miss your smile, joy, and the light you brought to everyone around you. I can only imagine Jesus welcoming you with wide open arms. See you later Daniel.
