Daniel Patrick Mathews
Daniel Patrick Mathews, aged 30, passed away on October 13, 2024. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Danny was born on July 21, 1994, in Hamden, where he grew up. He attended Hamden High School. Danny was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 11. He loved his union brothers. He enjoyed the difficulty and challenges of the job. He recently worked on a 15-story cancer research center. Danny loved his Mathews/Schreck family, friends and sports. He was an excellent athlete on town and high school teams. He played football and baseball. He made many life-long friends. The family would like to recognize Coach Rhone for his continued friendship throughout the years. Danny's family and friends were so important to him. He was always happy to spend time with the people he loved. He was a coach and mentor and loved to help people. He especially loved time with his nephews, Jakson and Kai and his faithful dog, Bugsy. Danny is survived by his mom, Eileen, dad Ken, sister Kathleen (Sean), sister Chrissie, brother Bobby and girlfriend Jaqui Pignataro. Special remembrance to all of the deceased members of the Mathews and Schreck families. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. The family invites you to a celebration of his life at St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT, at 10:30am Saturday, October 19th. Please go directly to the church.
